Pakistan Steps Up Diplomacy to Revive Stalled US-Iran Negotiations
(MENAFN) Pakistan’s senior diplomat Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at restarting stalled direct negotiations between Tehran and Washington, according to an official statement released Monday.
The discussion reportedly centered on the broader regional situation as well as Pakistan’s continued diplomatic initiatives intended to support peace and stability across the Middle East.
According to the statement, Araghchi commended Pakistan for what he described as a “constructive” role and for its “sincere” mediation efforts aimed at bridging gaps between the involved parties.
Dar, on his part, reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to encouraging constructive engagement, stressing that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only practical route to resolving disputes and achieving long-term peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The contact between the two officials comes shortly after Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that Tehran is currently examining a response from the United States regarding its revised 14-point proposal intended to bring an end to the ongoing conflict.
