Indonesia Landslides Leave Nearly Twenty Dead, Over Thirty Missing
The fatality count from the landslide that hit Cilacap city in Central Java province climbed to 16 as rescue operations reached their fifth day Monday, a local broadcaster confirmed.
Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator Muhammad Abdullah reported three additional bodies were retrieved Monday, while seven people remained missing.
The regional disaster management agency director also stated Monday that in Banjarnegara regency of Central Java, two bodies have been recovered, while 26 more are suspected to be buried under the soil following a landslide on Saturday.
