Typhoon Bualoi Leaves Nearly Fifty Dead, Sixteen Missing in Vietnam
(MENAFN) Typhoon Bualoi has wreaked havoc across Vietnam, resulting in the deaths of 49 people, with 16 others reported missing, officials confirmed. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment disclosed these figures late Thursday, as reported by media.
In addition to the fatalities, the ministry stated that 153 individuals sustained injuries due to the storm’s impact. The preliminary economic damage has been estimated to exceed 12.7 trillion Vietnamese dong, roughly $481.1 million.
The storm’s destruction is widespread: at least 200 houses have been completely destroyed, while approximately 169,000 more have suffered damage, including the loss of roofing. Furthermore, nearly 64,800 buildings have been flooded as a result of intense rainfall and rising waters.
Authorities continue to assess the full scope of Typhoon Bualoi’s destruction, with detailed evaluations still underway. The scale of the disaster underscores the urgent need for relief efforts and resources in the affected regions.
